ICEfaces 1.8.2 is Ready for Download!

ICEfaces 1.8.2 is now available for download, SVN repository checkout, or download via Maven public repository. ICEfaces 1.8.2 includes:

  • Numerous fixes and performance enhancements to the ICEfaces Component Suite.
    • Enhanced keyboard navigation for the menuBar, menuPopup, panelCollapsible, panelTabSet, and tree components.
    • Rendering performance optimizations have been made to the dataTable, panelGroup, panelSeries, and menuBar components.
    • Enhancements have been made to the dataExporter, graphicImage, inputFile,  outputResource, panelPopup, panelTab, and  panelTooltip components.

  • ICEfaces framework fixes and improvements.
    • ICEfaces now supports deployment to browsers with cookies disabled.
    • New features have been added to enable 3rd party frameworks that can by-pass the JSF lifecycle (such as Seam Remoting) to "touch" the ICEfaces sessions in order to avoid unintended session expiry from occurring.

  • 3rd Party frameworks and libraries.
    • ICEfaces is now supported by the MetaWidget project, a 'smart User Interface widget' that populates itself, at runtime, with UI components to match the properties of your business object

  • Sample Applications.
    • Component Showcase - created a new demo panel for the ice:panelConfirmation component, and enhanced existing demo panels for ice:dataExporter, ice:inputFile, ice:panelTabSet and ice:panelTooltip
    • Auction Monitor - a new configuration paramter has been added to the ClockBean to specify interval delay between push notifications used to update auction time remaining clocks via ICEfaces asynchronous push.
